Sydney Simon
Associate
Sydney Simon is a member of the Boutin Jones Trusts & Estates practice where she works directly with individuals to carry out their estate planning goals. Working in the estate planning field was her goal throughout law school, and she enjoys assisting clients in the various phases of estate planning, trust administration and probate. Having earned a tax certificate from UC Davis School of Law, she possesses a background of knowledge in various areas of taxation, including taxation of business entities and business tax. She also received awards for earning the highest grade in Tax Controversy and Procedure and Practical Skills in Will and Trust Drafting and Administration.
As an undergraduate, she studied hospice care and the science and psychology of aging. As a law student, she interned as an Advocate for Senior Citizens’ Legal Services in Santa Cruz, where she assisted with a financial elder abuse trial and worked with clients on cases. In law school, she was also a Research Assistant for both Professor Donna Shestowsky and Professor Brian Soucek, ranked in the top 15% of her class and was a Senior Articles Editor for the Journal of International Law and Policy and an Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review.
