Marcie Murtha
Marcie Murtha is a litigator who helps Boutin Jones clients with the practical aspects of business litigation, including breach of contract, partnership disputes, and corporate disagreements. She was drawn to litigation work early on in law school because of the fast pace and unique challenges it brings. She built a foundation of experience interning with the Yolo County Public Defender’s Office and as a Judicial Extern for Judge Kimberley J. Mueller, who was then Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California.
Marcie is an active volunteer within Sacramento’s Afghan community, helping immigrants from Afghanistan with legal needs and putting them on a path to asylum and other types of legal status, as well as assisting with work permits.
As a Judicial Extern, I was exposed to different litigation styles, and I saw the value lawyers bring to clients when they provide quality representation. I want to be that quality representation for clients.
I love theatre and am a member of many theatre companies in Sacramento. I love the connection that actors make with the audience in a live performance, and I have always made time for the performing arts--even while in law school.
