Stuart List’s practice focuses on estate planning and post-death administration for complex estates and trusts to minimize estate, gift, generation-skipping, income and property taxes. He has extensive experience in preparing revocable and irrevocable trusts, including life insurance trusts, dynasty or generation-skipping trusts, charitable trusts, QPRTs, GRATs and other grantor trusts. Stuart advises clients in connection with succession planning for business and nonbusiness assets to transfer wealth from one generation to the next in a tax efficient manner taking into consideration the clients’ goals and family dynamics. He prepares estate and gift tax returns, and represents clients in estate and gift tax audits. Stuart also prepares premarital and other property agreements. Stuart is certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization as a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, and is licensed as a California certified public accountant (currently inactive).
I’ve worked diligently with my clients to do advanced tax planning to help transfer wealth from one generation to the next. No matter how the estate tax exemption evolves, early planning can offer many advantages to the next generation.
“I’m an estate planning and trust attorney whose practice focuses on high net worth and complicated estates. As a former CPA, I also do complex tax planning. There are many techniques we can use to help achieve a client’s goals—some being more sophisticated than others. I enjoy working with clients to implement and carry out plans that are specifically tailored to their estate planning goals.”
I’m a passionate sports fan who follows most every sport, except hockey. One of my favorite traditions each year is taking in a Dodgers/Giants series with my son.
