Dominique Kato

Dominique Kato is an Associate at Boutin Jones, where she focuses her practice on Healthcare and Litigation. Dominique earned her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Merit Scholar, member of the Moot Court Honors Board, and served in multiple leadership roles, including with the King Hall Legal Foundation, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and the Black Law Student Association. Before joining the firm, Dominique gained broad experience through two summers at Boutin Jones, working on healthcare compliance and complex litigation matters, as well as externships with the Federal Public Defender’s Office and UC Davis Law School’s Civil Rights Clinic.

Experience

Advised healthcare providers on patient access to medical records and compliance with state and federal confidentiality laws, including drafting and responding to medical-record subpoenas.

Served as a student attorney in the UC Davis Law Civil Rights Clinic, representing clients in civil rights litigation, including briefing and arguing a case before the Ninth Circuit.
