Christy Grellas
Associate
Christy represents buyers and sellers in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate throughout California, guiding them through every stage of the transaction. Her experience includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements, conducting due diligence review, examining surveys and title reports, monitoring contingencies and performance deadlines, and coordinating with escrow and title companies to ensure seamless closings. She also represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions, including lease negotiations, and drafting agreements for a variety of property types.
Her clients include the families of professional athletes, notable figures in the community, business owners across California, and multi-generational Sacramento Valley farming families. With a broad real estate background, she has worked on matters involving acquisitions and dispositions, real estate finance, easements and conservation easements, licenses, leasing, cease-and-desist letters, and demand letters.
In addition to her work at Boutin Jones, Christy serves as general counsel for her family’s real estate holdings company, advising on leasing relationships with national retailers such as Bank of America, Rite Aid, Grocery Outlet, and Max Muscle Nutrition, as well as local businesses. She plays an active role in managing the business operations, providing both legal and strategic guidance.
“Born and raised in Sacramento, I come from a Greek real estate family on one side and a multi-generation, local farming family on the other. From a young age, I was involved in everything from property upkeep to drafting documents for our family’s real estate business, while spending weekends and summers at my grandparents’ ranch, all of which laid the foundation for my career as a real estate lawyer. I now leverage this experience and legal expertise to assist clients with property ownership, leasing and management.”
