Brienna Cowan
Associate
Brienna Cowan is part of Boutin Jones’ litigation team and works with clients on a variety of civil disputes. She joined the firm after a clerkship in Sacramento City Attorney’s Office where she helped address questions in a number of legal fields including land use, employment and cannabis regulation. Her background also includes a fellowship with the Bay Area JusticeCorps in the Alameda County Superior Courts and an Internship with Dail Eireann, the Legislative Assembly of Ireland’s National Parliament.
“I’ve focused my law practice on litigation because I like helping people and businesses during a time of crisis. Litigation can be overwhelming and I enjoy helping individuals navigate that complicated process.”
I start most of my mornings with a run. I’ve run a marathon, several half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks - any distance does a good job of clearing my head.
Experience
- Assist clients with shareholder disputes. Advise on issues of conflict of interest and whether opposing counsel can be disqualified for advising both a shareholder and serving as corporate counsel.
- Assist in the representation of tenant in a co-tenant property dispute.
- Provide advice in representation of a construction borrower on lending issues and draw schedules.
- Provide advice in employment disputes, disputes among shareholders and between lenders and borrowers.
