B.J. Susich Chosen to Lead Sacramento County Bar in 2014

Boutin Jones Inc. attorney B.J. Susich has been named the 2014 President of the Sacramento County Bar. He immediately follows Boutin Jones’ Bruce Timm in the post of President, making it one of the few—if not the only—times in the organization’s history that one law firm has provided back-to-back leaders in that post.

Susich comes to the position with a lengthy pedigree of education. He earned his J.D. from U. C. Davis, King Hall School of Law and also earned an M.B.A. from the U.C. Davis Graduate School of Management. Continuing his education, he is currently enrolled in New York University’s Executive Masters of Law taxation program. He expects to graduate from that program in 2014. His undergraduate degree is in Business Administration—with a concentration in Accounting.

Susich, who is also a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, has previous experience working in public accounting firms. Outgoing SCBA President Timm has commented that Susich’s accounting and business skills will be put to use helping the association run in a business-like manner. As part of his role, Susich has been quoted in regional publications, such as the Sacramento Business Journal and the Sac Bee, commenting on issues facing the legal community.

At Boutin Jones, Susich represents businesses in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, financings, tax, executive compensation and accounting issues.
