Eric Spears’ practice focuses on entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings and general business counseling. While at UC Hastings, Eric interned in-house for Funding Circle USA, a web-based commercial lender, and for the Alameda-Contra Costa County Transit District, the third largest public bus system in California. He served as a judicial extern for the Honorable A. James Robertson II of the San Francisco Superior Court and as a legal intern for the State of California, Office of Legislative Counsel.
I always knew that I was going to teach, but didn’t know in what capacity. My family is filled with successful public school educators. My parents served public schools for over 35 years both as teachers and high school administrators and my sisters teach as well. Practicing law has provided me with the perfect venue to reconcile my passions for learning, teaching, and the law, as I get to help clients with their legal matters and ‘educate’ them on their options or best course of action.
I work with our business clients on matters relating to entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, private placements of securities and general business counseling.
Currently, I am helping a company prepare for a private placement of common stock, which consists of drafting the necessary offering documents, including an investor questionnaire and subscription agreement.
In my free time, I love being with family for huge get-togethers–particularly when they are at a San Francisco 49ers or Giants game.
